"Very dense, well maintained red. The nose is very refined, caramel notes, leather and red fruits. On the pallet, expressive tannins. The final shows a good acidity that brings a lot of freshness."

Planted 60km from Beirut on the alluvial plains of the Bekaa Valley at the foot of Mount Barouk with an altitude that touches 990 metres, Ch?teau Marsyas? 35 hectares of vineyards are steeped in history, dating back to the ancient civilisations. Owned by the Saad? family, Ch?teau Marsyas believes that ?wine is rooted in the earth? and staying true to this philosophy, Sandro Saad? produces superbly elegant wines with a unique character.
Winery Notes (2016 Vintage)
"Blending finesse and minerality, B-Q? de Marsyas is defined by rounded tannins created by 8 to 10 months of gentle barrel aging. It is made with the same philosophy and attention to detail as its "big brother" Ch?teau Marsyas. Cited by Strabo & Pliny the Elder, Marsyas was the ancient name of the Beqaa Valley."
Imagine a bowl of summer berries on a warm day with the smell of fresh earthy aromas. This wine is a complex amalgamation of all those flavours and more, made from a single vineyard planted over 50 years ago at 1,000 metres above sea level near the village of Aana in the Bekaa Valley. Deep, gravelly soil over a limestone base provides the vines with concentrated flavoured grapes and low yields (25-30 hectolitres per hectare) result in concentrated wines and the altitude keeps the average yearly temperature at around 25 ? C, encompassing cold, snowy winters, mild springs and hot summers.
Musar Jeune is one of our most complex reds in store right now and rocks deliciously earthy dark flavours of black cherries, dates, figs and luscious dry decadence. This maverick blend of Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet is made from grapes grown in the Beqaa Valley, a fertile area in eastern Lebanon, which is also an active war zone. The Beqaa Valley is also known as Bekaa, Biq? and Becaa and is home to the Hochar family?s famous Chateau Musar, winery renowned by producing complex, unconventional blends of French red grapes.
