We are proud to be part of the Bract Brewing Project, testing out experimental varieties grown by NZ Hops.

In our quest to continually expand our sensory and taste profiles with our breeding program looking for those ?hops with a difference?, NZH-111 has taken us down another unique flavour profile that is not often prevalent in our NZ varieties. See if you can pick it. More of a traditional heavy set Bine structure makes this quite a robust variety but does have a tight harvest window meaning when she?s ready, she?s ready.

Continuing our relationship with New Zealand Hops' breeding programme we have now come to Bract NZH-111. This feels like a pretty unique hop for New Zealand, where perhaps we've been lacking a bit in the huge tropical fruit aromas we have gotten used to over the years. It is more delicate, almost European in presentation with subtle hints of spice, citrus and earthiness. It is very nice in its own right and an exciting candidate to broaden the spectrum and usages of locally grown hops. Nice firm bitterness too, making it very suitable for the pilsner we decided to brew with it.

Sake bomb, Sake bomb, sake bomb...hey. Following our well received collab with ZenKuro sake brewery in 2019 we have teamed up again, this time with a different approach. Sake bomb beer in one neat package...Not quite - but we have brewed a beautiful golden pilsner with locally grown southland hops and then re-fermented it with sake kasu (rice starch by product of sake production). Making a lovely easy going beer that pairs well with Japanese food and contains subtle aromas of rice wine matched with stonefruit. Just remember your chant before drinking!

We've been on the hops again... beavering away to create a Pilsner option of our Award winning All Day non-alcoholic IPA, that tastes like a delicious refreshing beer.

100% craft brewed fermented non-alcoholic beer (not alcohol removed). Stonefruit, mojito lime and tropical characters from the Nectaron, Motueka and El Dorado hops for an unmistakably beer finish.  Brewed fermented with lager yeast.  ALL DAY.

Contains no more than 0.5% Alc/Vol.

Doug!A Nelson Sauvin & Motueka fresh hopped Pilsner for our favourite Doug.This guy?s a legend, we had to make sure we brewed a beer that would match him. Hailing from North Otago, it was only right to use the colours. Fresh hop, because Doug is fresh as f*#k!Distinct fresh Nelson Sauvin characters, we got the hops into the kettle less than 45 minutes after picking! Green, grassy, & complimented with juicy bubble gum flavours from late and dry hopping with Motueka!

Our straw-coloured pilsner is crystal-clear and perfectly hopped, boasting a light taste and a lasting foam head with extra-fine bubbles. This all combines for a moment of pure pilsner enjoyment. For two centuries we?ve brewed our beer using only the best ingredients, and following the renowned German Beer Purity laws. It?s no wonder the distinct barrel-fresh taste of our Bitburger Premium Pils is a firm favourite amongst beer fans, and the most poured beer in Germany!

Pilsner

5.0% ? 330ml

Our Pilsner is brewed with soft Waitakere water, German Pilsner malt and Motueka hops, then fermented with a classic Bavarian lager yeast. This Pilsner offers firm bitterness up front, followed by lemon/lime notes from the hops, and leading through to a refreshingly dry finish.

The juice has a lot going on.  A dry hopped Gose, sour wheat ale in a German style, a mouthful to describe, but the unique processes add a clean tart taste, making the juice a surprising mouthful of joy.

It seemed apt to name our Pilsner after the home of Pilsner beer; the Czech Republic.

However, this is a very kiwi take on the Czech classic, due to unconventional dry-hopping. The Saaz and Wakatu dominated hop blend creates a floral Pilsner with a crisp, refreshing palate.

malt to bring you a smooth, balanced beer that drives a subtle and calmingly
sweet mandarin citrus mouthfeel. It?s a Pilsner you will want to drink all the
time, probably even for ever and ever.
