Red Wine
Champion Pinot Noir at the 2023 New Zealand International Wine Show - a big win for a small producer on Dublin Street in Martinborough, which is the new brand for the vineyard formerly known as Brodie Estate.
This is a deep ruby hued Pinot Noir with complex layers of flavour of red fruit, hazelnuts, spice and a hint of cedar. Youthful and layered, it will age well, if you have the willpower.
This is an outstanding wine and represents great value for money.
Dublin Street has a new lease of life...
Eva and Ross Mackay own Dublin Street Wines in Martinborough village and have breathed new life into this old vineyard.
Eva and Ross were living in Australia prior to moving to Martinborough in 2019, making their first Pinot Noir in 2019 with a following wine in 2020. These two warm, dry, high quality vintages have been a positive start to their experience in Martinborough and it has been a steep learning curve for the couple, who are both former lawyers.
What the critics say...
"Medium dark red with purple tint. Subtle red fruits, hazelnut, spice and oak notes on the nose. The palate is lovely, full and sweet fruited. Gentle yet pleasingly rich and elegant."
96/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Whitehaven Wines began life in 1994 as a romantic business for a couple of corporate escapees, Sue and Greg White, who had given up life in the rat race of Auckland for another kind of life aboard their yacht. When sailing around the country, they took shelter in the Marlborough Sounds from Pacific storms and fell in love with the region. An easy thing to do when harbouring in the spectacularly pristine waters of the Sounds. They decided to settle there on terra firma once more and try their hands at wine production, hiring a winemaker and beginning a business which has now been around for 26 years. Greg has sadly passed away now, leaving a legacy as well as his wife and daughter, Sam, to run the winery. Their winemaker is Peter Jackson.

Bordering the old Waiheke Air Strip this vineyard produces world-class Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot.
Planted when their children were barely walking, John and Paul Dunleavy?s vines have matured over two decades and, like their children, bring their own unique character to this wine.
Aged in barrels for 10 months, but made in a forward, fruit driven style to be enjoyed in youth, The Strip will continue to improve over time with careful cellaring.
This lighter style of southern French red Cotes du Rhone is a spicy red made from 95% Grenache with 5% Syrah.
The Guigal family now own the 100 hectares Chateau D'Aqueria estate, 60 hectares of which under vine and is considered one of the jewels of the southern Rh?ne Valley. Nestled in the heart of the garrigue with the backdrop of an unmistakeably Mediterranean hillside, the vineyards of Ch?teau d?Aqueria extend across the appellations of Tavel and Lirac. In the distance, Mont Ventoux keeps a friendly eye on the property which radiates a gentle calm.
In May 2022, the Guigal family took over the reins from the de Bez family to become next in line as owners of the Aqueria estate. Together with the team at the Ch?teau, their common goal is to preserve the history and the memory of the people of Aqueria who have accompanied these excellent terroirs throughout the years.
