Rum
Pampero was created in 1938 by the son of a fisherman Alejandro Hernandez. Hernandez original recipe introduced a distillation process unique to Venezuela. Hernandez harvested the finest sugar cane only in the incredibly humid dry season, to produce a smoother cut of alcohol. This alcohol blended with the local Carbonero spring water creates a distinctive deep, complex intense spirit with a surprisingly smooth rounded flavour. Pampero set the standard for rum production in Venezuela and each rum must be aged for a minimum of 2 years, resulting in a smoother and more characterful rum than other standard white rums.
Brugal Extra Viejo is skilfully blended by our Maestros using our carefully selected, older reserves from white American oak casks that previously held bourbon. Extra Viejo is the perfect signature of Brugals distinctive smooth style. The rich amber liquid has a rounded woody spiciness, notes of orange peel and hints of vanilla, creating a fuller flavour profile and long balanced finish. A bold rum with a depth of flavour you can really taste in your mixed drink.
With its opulent and elegant texture, the Opthimus from Oliver & Oliver easily plays in the upper league of exquisite rums. It?s matured in former bourbon barrels for 18 years using the Solera process
