Pinot Noir Rose
Martinborough winemaker Lance Redgwell has often and aptly been named the region's winemaking wild child, due to his unconventional, maverick take on both winemaking and the range of grapes he blends together.
The wines are adventurously different and often harmoniously co fermented, bringing together Pinot Noir, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Muscat in this tasty, cloudy pink blend. It's dry, fresh and interestingly funky with aromatic notes of ripe mandarin, honey and orange blossom; all suggesting Muscat, with the acidity of Riesling adding zesty length to the finish.
Plush elegant pink. Aromas of strawberries and bright fruit with a layer of pretty spring flowers. Flavours of freshly cut rock melon, lime and zest. It as a beautiful drive and length that keeps it alive in your mouth long after the glass is finished. We are really proud of this rosé it will not disappoint.
Home Fields operates from their original vineyard, planted in 1993, plus four additional lease vineyards. The yield potential is approximately 50 tonnes, the majority of which being Pinot Noir, with several tonnes each of Chardonnay, Syrah and Pinot Gris.
For this wine the Pinot Noir grapes were lightly pressed, separated from skins and fermented to ?dry? over ten days.
Tasting
In the bottle, flavours offer a mix of strawberry with tangerine / grapefruit citrus notes. Tannins and acid lend body to the wine.

Martinborough Pinot Noir grapes were lightly pressed into service in a quest to make this lively, light bodied rose, which benefits from the crisp acidity of the Pinot grape, which adds freshness to and length to its fruity flavours.
Palliser Estate is the first winery on the way into the small town of Martinborough. It's one of the biggest wineries in one of this country's smallest wine regions, the Wairarapa and it makes a wide range of wines, including this incredibly popular rose, made 100% from Pinot Noir grapes grown on the Pencarrow and Pinnacles vineyards.
The grapes were lightly crushed for a pale colour then gently pressed and fermented to dryness at less than 5 grams of residual sugar per litre, which is the technical definition of a dry wine.

Waikura locally refers to the pink hue in the sky at dawn and dusk, which led winemaker Jannine Rickards to use its evocative name in this ruby hued, high energy, succulent rose. It is made with grapes grown in the Wairarapa and has refreshing, high acidity which is balanced beautifully with deep fruit flavours and a totally dry taste.

The name K?parepare is Maori for gift and $1 from every bottle of wine is donated to LegaSea, a not for profit organisation set up by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council in 2012 to raise awareness of the marine environment and inspire public support.
The wines are made by Whitehaven in Marlborough, which was founded by Greg and Sue White in 1994 after they sailed into the Marlborough Sounds to shelter from a storm in the early 1990s and fell for the natural beauty of the region and the haven it provided.
