Blended Whisky
The classic 12 year old blend from Dewars, this stuff is the successor to Dewar's "Double Aged" 12 Year Old - so named in reference to the additional six month marriage the whisky enjoys in oak after the initial maturation and blending. The practice is maintained despite the name change and the result is loads of flavour
Nose: A heady note of juicy fruit and thick, creamy malt. Rather floral, and quite sweet with notes of toasted barley, almond and a tinge of honey.
Palate: The palate is perfectly poised with notes of barley malt, hot buttered toast, a little honey, and some aniseed spiciness.
Finish: A touch of smoke on the tail, alongside plenty of thick malt and sweetness.
Created to be a sweeter, lighter Blended Scotch Whisky, this was the first whisky created by Stephanie Macleod. Thanks to both the unique double ageing process and golden water source, Dewar?s 15 Year Old is unusually smooth, with flavour notes of honey, toffee and floral.
Nose: balanced Sherried spices, nutty elements and apple skin.
Palate: Oily walnut, fresh malt and sultanas. Chewy vanilla toffee.
Finish: sweet dried fruit notes with touch of grassiness.
Timorous Beastie 10 Years Old is a beautifully aged, Highland ?Vatted? Malt, that is proudly offered without colouring or chill-filtration. The fourth release under the brand to carry an age statement, following Timorous Beastie 18 Years Old, 40 Years Old and 21 Years Old bottlings.
Nose: Very sweet as if sugar and syrup have been added to spiced autumnal fruit.
Palate: Now with honey, the gentlest spices and a distinct cereal content
Finish: Honeycomb and clove studded orange finish
Bottled by Douglas Laing, an independent bottler of fine Scotch whisky established in 1948. The concept is to enable whisky lovers around the world a chance to come s close as they can to sampling whisky as it was straight from the cask or having a whisky experience like no other.
The original Timorous Beastie, immortalised in Robert Burns? famous Scottish poem ?To a Mouse? was a timid little field mouse. Echoing our natural bard?s wit. This whisky is most certainly not for the fainthearted.
This non chill-filtered ?vatted malt? is a marriage of whisky aged no less than 18 years and selected highland malts ? including, amongst others, those distilled at Blair Athol, Glen Garioch, Dalmore and Glengoyne distilleries. Bottled at 46.8% abv.
