Launched in 2017, "The Distillery Collection" showcases Diplomatico?s diverse distillation processes and wide range of styles.
The batch kettle still was brought to Diplom?tico?s La Miel distillery in 1959. This discontinuous distillation system is originally from Canada, where it was employed for the production of whisky.
The batch kettle rum is mainly produced from sugar cane honeys and aged in American white oak barrels, that previously served to age bourbon and whisky, for 6 years.
Fruity and sweet aromas, wild flowers and vanilla notes. Its elegance continues in the palate where delicate wood tannins are complemented by notes of toasted caramel and ripe red fruit flavors, ending in a soft, sweet and lingering aftertaste.

This second release from Diplomatico's 'Distillery Collection' comes from the Diplomatico's Barbet column still, which is filled with sugar cane molasses and continuously distilled. A welcome new limited edition to the Diplomatico range, with just 5,000 released worldwide.
"The third rum in Diplomatico?s Distillery Collection, No. 3 is a full-bodied, complex spirit made using high quality sugar cane honey. Matured in ex-bourbon barrels, this limited-edition rum combines tropical fruit aromas with toffee and vanilla. The palate offers rich oak notes alongside dark chocolate and dried fruits, before a rich, lingering finish full of warm spices.
This rum was made solely in the Copper Pot Still that was brought to Diplomatico?s La Miel distillery in 1959. This discontinuous distillation system was originally used in Scotland to produce whisky. The Distillery Collection showcases the individual distillates behind some of Diplomatico?s world-renowned rums, highlighting the distinct personalities created by using different stills."

On the nose, coffee, vanilla and ripe fruit take over. In the mouth, flavours of bitter chocolate evolve on notes of blond tobacco to finish on red fruits.
Disaronno Originale unbeknownst to most is not actually amaretto which is why it has been removed from it?s label. It is amaretto flavored, with a characteristic bittersweet almond taste. Disaronno claims its ?originale? amaretto?s ?secret formula? is unchanged from the year 1525, and claims the Luini tale as its own particular history. Its production remains in Saronno, but the product is sold worldwide. The company describes its amaretto as an infusion of ?apricot kernel oil? with ?absolute alcohol, burnt sugar, and the pure essence of seventeen selected herbs and fruits?; the product does not contain any almonds or other nuts.

Old bush vineyards grown on weathered granite and sandstone are selected in cool areas of Stellenbosch with a good exposure to cooling sea breezes. Fruit is allowed to ripen to optimum ripeness and generally harvested once the fruit has attained a light yellow hue.
Green apple, apricot, peach, hints of honey and floral aromas characterize a fresh and upfront nose. The palate is rich and well integrated with a lingering aftertaste.

Section 94 is one of New Zealand great white wines, made from a small portion of vineyard land that was named Section 94 on the country's original lands and survey map. It's the brainchild of the highly experienced viticulturist-winemaking duo, Ivan Sutherland (one time Olympic medal winning rower) and James Healy, the grapes are 100% barrel fermented in new French oak followed by aging in oak. Complex, great and long lived maverick wine.
Layers of depth with nutty aromas and full bodied with dry flavours. Drinks well on release and can also age, as this example shows. It is 100% Sauvignon Blanc but is not labelled with the varietal as Sutherland and Healy want to highlight what's possible from the land first and foremost.
