Originally from north west Spain (also known as 'green Spain'), it's a grape that thrives in cool maritime climates, such as New Zealand's. 

This new wine is made with grapes grown in Hawke's Bay, which were fermented in a concrete egg. This is a deliciously weighty, dry and textural wine with distinctive green olive, green apple and freshly picked herb flavours. An absolute stunner.
