When founder Stephen realised wine and beer no longer agreed with him, he turned his attention to spirits and started experimenting at home, mashing assorted fruits with different spirit strengths. After working his way through an entire fruit bowl, Stephen discovered that raspberry delivered the best flavour, leading to the creation of a pink drink.
G&J Distillers, one of the world’s oldest gin distilleries, was recruited to the produce the core spirit with five botanicals to Pinkster's original recipe. Pinkster then macerate with a further three botanicals, including fresh, plump raspberries grown locally to the distillery's rural base outside Cambridge.
Pinkster makes a refreshingly different G&T, with its delicate flavour appealing both to seasoned gin drinkers and recent converts.
On the nose, orange peels and angelica, with a subtle whiff of tart raspberries coming through. Rounded fruit, a drying touch of pepper, vanilla bean and coriander on the palate. Zesty raspberries and a grassy hint of water mint finish.
Minimal bottle. Maximum flavour. Artisan gin with raspberries. Yum!
