Produced at Japan's Kyoto Distillery, KI NO BI (‘The Beauty of the Seasons’) is inspired by tradition and is distilled, blended and bottled in Kyoto. Ki No Bi is the first gin to be made in the city.
Made with a rice spirit and botanicals including yellow yuzu, Japanese cypress, green tea, bamboo and sanso berries (Japanese peppercorn), this has classic juniper notes which complement the Japanese botanicals. Warm and spicy finish.
Ki No Bi SEI Kyoto Dry Gin is made similar to the Ki No Bi Kyoto Dry GIn using 11 botanicals that are distilled in six distinct flavour categories.
The name SEI (勢), meaning ‘power’, has been chosen as this expression has evolved from the Japanese interpretation of the traditional Navy Strength style, recalibrated by Ki No Bi's distilling team to assert greater botanical intensity at the higher proof.
Created, blended and bottled at the dedicated artisanal distillery in Kyoto, KI NO BI SEI is a Japanese gin distilled from rice spirit, complemented by the addition of regional botanicals such as yellow yuzu, hinoki, sansho pepper, bamboo leaf, cave-aged ginger and fine gyokuro tea from renowned Uji tea grower Horii Shichimeien. The separate distillates are blended together with the famed waters of Fushimi from Tsuki-no-Katsura, a sake brewery dating back to 1675.
The label design has been created in collaboration with KIRA KARACHO, part of the KARACHO KARAKAMI atelier founded in Kyoto in 1624.
Similar nose to the Kyoto Dry. Yuzu and juniper notes are overwhelmingly present with slight spicy notes from the sansho and ginger. Juniper and citrus notes on the palate with a crisp, refreshing and spicy finish.
KI NO TEA is Kyoto Distillery's product created by collaboration with tea-grower and blender, Hori-Shichimeien, founded in the Meiji era in 1879. Based in the famous Uji region to the south of Kyoto city, a number of super-premium Uji teas have been specially selected to form the heart of KI NO TEA.
Tencha and Gyokuro provide intense aromas and depth of flavour with a wonderful sweetness that occurs naturally in the distillation of these superior teas.
Kyoto Distillery use leaves harvested in the Okunoyama tea yard, that dates back to 1300’s, and blend carefully with a secret botanical recipe used only in KI NO TEA.
Gentle aromas give the impression of walking into a silent Japanese tea house. First, sweet notes like white-chocolate and citrus arise from the glass, then juniper. KI NO TEA finishes with a very long lasting, warm green tea fragrance.
