Beautiful full bodied Chardonnay for drinking now or for the cellar; from Domaine William Fevre, which has led the Chablis revival over the past decade with its refined, full bodied, dry white wines, all 100% Chardonnay, of course, as this appellation is devoted entirely and solely to this great white grape variety.
Great value Chardonnay sourced from M?con-Fuiss?, Chaintr?, Vir?-Cless? La Verch?re, Saint-V?ran, En Combe and Pouilly-Fuiss?. This is a great wine to try if you want to get a taste for the Maconnais region in Burgundy.
Buttery, lemony and complex on the palate. This wine has great acidity and freshness coupled with a rich buttery texture. This is a great entry level white Burgundy by excellent winemakers Jean-Phillipe and John-Guillame Bret.
This wine is assembled from 14 parcels situated around La Roche de Solutr? with perfect southerly aspects. The wine spends 12 months in French oak of which 20% is new followed by six months in cuve prior to bottling.
Elegant and very pretty aromas of acacia blossom and various white orchard fruit give way to sleek and sophisticated flavors that are markedly saline, and contribute further to the refreshing and persistent finish.
The 2015 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des F?rets Saint Georges includes around 55% whole bunch and is actually a blend of six different cuv?es. What is interesting is that the whole bunch contribution is far less tangible in this compared to the Clos de l'Arlot. It is very well defined, quite sensual in style with very pure red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin: tart red cherry fruit, wild strawberry, saline in the mouth with a sappy finish that keeps drawing you back in. This is an outstanding contribution to the vintage, courtesy of winemaker G?raldine Godot.

This Pouilly-Fuiss? is a blend of two parcels from the town of Vergisson, respected as one of the most mineral wine producing villages of the appellation. One parcel is north facing, with cooler breezes, while the other is a late ripening plot facing east on sandstone soil; the vines are between 35-60 years old. This combination results in a superb tension between mineral and fruit, with great depth and concentration.
A Burgundian styled Chardonnay from the Languedoc-Roussillon region in the south of France. This wine offers the depth and elegance of the classic Burgundian Chardonnays, but at a fraction of the price. This is a medium-bodied wine, with great fruit purity and a soft-textured palate. Stone-fruit and citrus notes are balanced with nutty elements and a chalky minerality.
Savitar is one of the great Shirazes from McLaren Vale, made with grapes grown on the Lopresti Vineyard's Chinese Block, located at the south end of McLaren Vale, about four kilometres east of the coastal town of Port Willunga. The vines struggle here, producing low yields of fruit with tiny berries which are full of black fruit flavours with dried herb, black olives and an earthy structure of dark smokiness, making this a power packed wine.
It's named after a mythological dragon like creature, in homage to this wine's bold flavours and powerful length. It's an impressive wine for now and will undoubtedly age for the long haul - think a decade at least.
The winemaking
Grapes for Savitar Shiraz are selected by hand from the Lopresti Vineyard in McLaren Vale, a site where they struggle and deliver in small volumes. This is regarded as outstanding raw material. They are fermented and the wine pressed before being transferred to oak barrels where it remains on light lees for 18 months before blending.
Grange is Australia?s most collectible wine on the auction market and is listed as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. It was first created in the 1950s by the late Max Schubert, winemaker at Penfolds, whose aim was to create a Shiraz to end all Shirazes. His wine was controversial when first tasted with others at the winery but has since grown to become a liquid expression of South Australia's hot climate, its most planted grape variety and winemaking with all the bells and whistles. It's always youthful when first bottled and can age for decades, in the correct cellaring conditions.
"The nose of the 2015 Grange features the wine's characteristic lifted aromas, joined by pronounced American oak influence and bold blackberry fruit, plus hints of red meat, raspberries, asphalt and vanilla. It's dense and concentrated, full bodied, balanced and firm, with a rich, velvety texture and long, plush finish. Don't expect great complexity at this youthful stage, with its primary fruit and oak elements. This Grange should easily last for three to four decades."

This is a great showcase of old Barossa vines, some of which are over 115 years old. The Shiraz brings the blackberry core and structure, while the Grenache adds aromatics and textural complexity. The Mourvedre adds spice and earthy notes. This wine is rich with dark berry and savoury, earthy notes. Subtly spicy and woody, with a herbal touch on the palate. This is a medium-full bodied wine that is drinking very well in its youth, but is capable of ageing for up to 15 years.
